Malmö is Sweden’s third largest city, Scandinavia’s sixth largest, and its thriving growth center offers access to 4.2 million consumers within 90 minutes in the Öresund Region. Skåne is among the fastest-growing regions in Sweden, driven by urban development and strong population growth. In 2023, 7.3 million commercial guest nights were recorded in the county, an increase of 6.2 per cent compared to 2022. One third, 2.1 million, were international guest nights, a segment that grew by 8.5 per cent since the previous year. In addition, many overnight stays are made at non-commercial forms of lodging and visits to friends and relatives.

Malmö Airport
The most sustainable airport in the Greater Copenhagen region
Malmö Airport is Sweden’s third largest airport and the second airport in the Greater Copenhagen region. The airport is located approximately 30 kilometres east of Malmö and via the Öresund Bridge, about 55 kilometres from central Copenhagen, Denmark. Due to its size, arrivals and departures through Malmö Airport are often very quick and easy and it’s also an important domestic airport. In addition, it handles mainly short-haul flights with a strong emphasis on low-cost and charter services to most of Europe. Malmö Airport is also a cargo airport with daily freighters to/from Malmö Airport.
