Skåne is among the fastest-growing regions in Sweden, driven by urban development and strong population growth. In 2023, 7.3 million commercial guest nights were recorded in the county, an increase of 6.2 per cent compared to 2022. One third, 2.1 million, were international guest nights, a segment that grew by 8.5 per cent since the previous year. In addition, many overnight stays are made at non-commercial forms of lodging and visits to friends and relatives.
